Last week Sunday we were planning to go out in the morning to take some pictures, but, it was raining, and it continued raining on and off throughout the day. Daddy saw that it stopped raining and he told me that we could go take pictures now. I was so excited I ran upstairs to quickly get dressed and put on a cap so my hair would not get wet.
My dad had an idea about where we should go and it was Port Henderson in Portmore, St. Catherine. When we got there I saw a really nice spot to take the picture, but I had to stand on a column. Port Henderson used to be a busy town a long time ago, I will put some information about it at the end of this post in case you want to learn more.
I like the view down to what looks like an old pier, the bushes and the blue sea in this picture, and if you look very closely you can see three ships in the back.

About Port Henderson
Port Henderson was established in the late 18th century as a port town and received the fast ferry to Spanish Town (Jamaica’s capital at the time). The town became very fashionable during the 19th century because it had a natural spa. But the town was badly damaged by hurricane Charlie in 1951 and the famous spa was destroyed. The ruins include the Green Castle Great House, the Apostles Battery, Gun Emplacement, Bullock’s Lodge and the Longhouse

So, I use to go down to that pier and try to catch fish while the soldiers would stand guard at their post and watch.
Another day, My friend Mark, my brother and I; hiked the entire hill side from that pier to Hellshire beach. There were a lot of sharp rocks, hidden caves and steep cliffs along the way.
